Machine Operator for Cold Saw

We now offer an 'Express Cut to Size Service' for most products on cold cutting saws, band saw, and guillotine. General cutting services for larger quantities can be also same day when ordered ahead of time (subject to current workload).

Position Description

Our machine operators are responsible for preparing orders of steel & other metals. This involves moving/handling lengths of material, cutting to size & bundling. Working from instructions specified on a job sheet.

Other tasks include re-stocking the steel racks using the overhead crane and keeping things in order and clean & tidy. The applicant will mainly be operating Brobo saws, aluminium saw, bandsaw, and overhead crane. If this sounds like you, then we would be very pleased to hear from you.

The applicant must be experience with working with steel, measuring, and working out mathematical problems. A high degree of accuracy (to the millimeter) is expected. The desired applicant would have the ability to concentrate and remain focused in a busy environment, cope with being interrupted occasionally for changing priorities, and to be fit; expected to lift and pack steel sections and go all day.

The hours of work are 8am - 5:00pm (includes overtime), Monday - Friday.

If you have experience cropping, punching, guillotining, oxy cutting, pipe bending etc. this may also be an advantage.

Position Requirements

• Steel cutting experience on a Brobo saw
• Demonstrable measuring abilities with a tape measure

• Must be fit (Heavy Lifting & Manual Handling required)

• Settled & looking for long term employment
